Remarks:
Like the rooibos, the honeybush was discovered in South Africa in the 18th century. The shrub got its name from its very characteristic appearance with yellow, brightly shining flowers that smell of honey. The wild growth thrives exclusively on the small mountain ranges in the so-called Longkloof district. Rediscovered in the nineties, the honeybush is now grown commercially at 35 different locations. The wild plants are protected as much as possible. When poured on, it smells and tastes pleasantly sweet and aromatic.
